Improving Cross-Border Trade in Eurasia
The purpose of this 2019 evaluation was to review and assess the extent to which the project “Removing Regulatory and Procedural Barriers to Trade in Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyz Republic” (“the Project”) achieved its objectives. The evaluation assessed the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, sustainability and impact of the project. The objective of the evaluation was to inform decisions on improving technical cooperation projects and activities implemented by the UNECE, particularly under the UNECE Steering Committee on Trade Capacity and Standards.
The evaluation was conducted in accordance with the UNECE Evaluation Policy and on the basis of a desk study, one field trip and interviews with trainers, trainees, project managers, permanent representatives to the UN in Geneva and state organisations who will implement elements of the removal of barriers to trade.
